Final Rules Released

March 28, 2011 2 Comments by Arizona Dispense

The final set of rules for the implementation of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act were just released this morning. These are the highlights:

  • Dispensary applications will be taken on June 1st 2011 (a month later than previously stated)
  • Special use permits, if required by the city, must be in hand before applying for a dispensary certificate
  • Access to $150,000 must be demonstrated to operate a dispensary
  • Dispensaries can have retail locations in one CHAA and a cultivation site in another
  • An evaluation process will be used by the AZ DHS to evaluate applications rather than a simple lottery system (this one is complex and I will break it down later)
